Gemma Waring - Head of Training and Consultancy

Gemma is a qualified trainer with over 8 years of experience bidding for public sector tenders. She has worked with a range of procurement bodies such as DWP, Local Authorities, The Environment Agency, MOJ and has worked on contracts up to the value of £180m. In her current role she supports our customers to compete effectively for tenders through our public training courses, bespoke in-house training courses and our wider consultancy services.

Jamie Edwards

Jamie is a vastly experienced award winning Bid Writer and Contracts Manager who has a long history of success in both business development and procurement consultancy. Starting his career in Scandinavia in the mid 1990’s, Jamie quickly established a reputation as a compelling author of concise, factual and persuasive bids, tenders and proposals for tenders in the USA, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe. Since those formative years in industry, Jamie’s career has flourished and his experience of bid writing, bid strategy, E-procurement and winning and managing contracts with the public, private and third sectors is second to none.

Matthew Griffin FCIPS MSc

Matthew has extensive Supply Chain & Procurement experience across the NHS, Public Sector, Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Utilities gained through senior leadership roles in complex organisations. He improves financial performance through creative and innovative strategic sourcing and leadership of teams, as well as ensuring compliance. Matthew establishes new directions and focuses on the effective delivery of goals. He has strong creative, leadership, team building and communication skills.

Nicola Bramwell (BSc, MCIPS, MSc, PRINCE2)

Nicola is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and has a Masters Degree in Procurement. During her career, Nicola has managed a wealth of procurements for a wide range of products and services covering a variety of different categories and sectors. This has involved Nicola working with stakeholders to write the questions asked during a procurement, both within the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire as well as the subsequent Tender documentation. Nicola has developed the accompanying evaluation criteria and marking schemes for these procurements, as well as subsequently managing the evaluation process to ensure that the evaluation is undertaken in accordance with the agreed pre-published methodology meaning that all bidders are treated equally. As a result of this experience, Nicola has a unique insight and detailed understanding of the requirements of the bidding process and can thereby help organisations improve their chance of success when tendering for new contracts.

Paddy Howlin

Paddy has extensive experience within category management and public sector procurement, both in terms of developing and implementing strategy to drive successful commercial outcomes and building highly motivated teams that deliver savings, cost improvement and drive continuous improvements via the delivery of robust commercial arrangements. Paddy has a proven track record of success in leading innovative public sector procurement and commercial activities. He successfully project managed the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency Telecare National Framework procurement, which won the prestigious Chartered Institute of Supply Best EU Public Procurement Project Award in 2007. He has since led the successful delivery of procurements within Clinical Temporary Staffing, Property and Facilities Management categories whilst Head of Category at Government Procurement Service.

Sandra has extensive procurement experience in both the public and private sector. She is an accredited procurement manager, coach, trainer and a CIPS examiner.

Tom McAra FCIPS

Tom is the Head of Strategic Procurement at the University of West London and has extensive experience in the public and third sector markets. His experience covers many departments including the Home Office, University of Glasgow and Crown Agents. He has deep theoretical and practical experience around procurements involving the EU Directives, including Competitive Dialogue and Remedies. With such a broad range of experience he is ideally placed to advise public sector procurement practitioners on how best to manage their programmes, to drive forwards their projects. To back up his law degree, Tom holds a Masters in construction law and a MA in Industrial Relations, which complement his commercial experience. Tom’s key areas of expertise are: •Commercial process management •EU Procurement •Remedies and Challenges •PQQ and Tender Management
